We still have around 60 days until summer officially starts. That means there is plenty of time to add some finishing touches to your home, to give it a nice summer POP! Summer can be a great time to stop and smell the roses. You can slow down a bit, spend time outside, and enjoy the nice reset!

Since there is still plenty of time, we wanted to give you a quick Howard’s How To List, on how to decorate your home for the summer, or maybe just get it more summer-friendly!

  1. Summer is Bright, So Add Some Color!

The specific color is not as important as the fact that the color is bright. A bright pink, yellow, or green can add that summer feeling you are looking for this time of year. The beauty of this is you can pick the color you love the most, just add the bright version of it.

  1. Add Some Earthy or Floral Patterns / Actual Earthy or Floral Elements

A throw pillow or a thin blanket with a nice pattern can add character and flare to a space. Adding earthy or floral elements that match the summer season, can bring the summer energy into your home and warm up the space. You can also add some of the real things! Summer is the perfect time to go pick flowers, or go to your local garden center and add some house plants.

  1. Switch up Your Scents

Fresh fruit, a cool ocean breeze, or clean linen, whatever summer scent is your favorite, stock up! Candles, wall plug-ins, and air fresheners can all alter the atmosphere of a space! Make it smell as good as summer feels!

  1. Small Decor Swaps

The mantle, the books on the coffee table, the knick-knacks! Add and switch out more summer-themed pieces, like flowers, shells, fruit, etc!

  1. Ditch the Chunky Blankets

It is warm out, but those chunky blankets say it’s cold. So, put them in the closet and bring out some thinner throw blankets. Not only can you incorporate a fun color or pattern, but it will be functional during these warmer months!
